From Nokia 3310 to Custom ROMs and Beyond
The idea of PhoneManiac was conceived in 2015 and brought to life in 2020 by Aju Thomas. The passion began in childhood with the legendary Nokia 3310 and only intensified as mobile technology advanced through the Symbian era and the rise of Android.
Driven by endless curiosity about how phones, operating systems, and the internet function, Aju immersed himself into the enthusiast tech world. That journey involved extensive Android tinkering—from flashing custom ROMs, patching, and kernel-level modifications to conducting UI testing for custom ROM developers.
That deep technical foundation inspired the creation of PhoneManiac: a channel and platform to share authentic, hands-on knowledge with people who want honest advice on where their hard-earned money should go.
